The 2013 Hennessey Venom GT will get a significant power plus some design changes in the body, according to John Hennessey, CEO and owner of Hennessey Performance.

Accordingly, the new Venom GT will be powered by a 7.0-liter twin turbo V8 engine with 1,500 hp, mated to a 6-speed Ricardo manual or a new 7-speed paddle shift transmission. While the 2012 Venom GT with a twin-turbo aluminum V8 produces 1,200 hp and 1,135 lb-ft torque.

The power-to-weight ratio is higher than one hp per kg of curb weight. Although new performance figures haven't been released yet, but we want to remind you that the 2012 Venom GT weighs 1,220 kg and could hit 62 mph in 2.2 seconds. Top speed will be 262 mph.

The 2013 Venom GT will borrow the same carbon fiber body, with its active rear wing which ensures enough down force on the rear wheel drive. Some changes include a new door design with dihedral hinges, redesigned side skirts, new side mirrors and an additional headroom with double bubble roof. In particular, the supercar is going to lose the Lotus-style headlights for newly designed ones.
