According to a recent report from Caradvice, Audi will launch the five-door version of the 2013 S3 Sportback in Australia next year, after the three-door version goes on sale in the second half of 2013.
It will be powered by a 2.0-liter direct-injection turbocharged TFSI engine with 296 hp and 380 Nm of torque, making it 35 hp and 30 Nm more powerful than the previous generation. Power is sent to all four wheels via a standard six-speed manual or an optional dual clutch S tronic gearbox.
While the current S3 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, the new S3 can do it in 5.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 km/h. When fitted with the manual, the car returns 6.9-liter per 100 km, while with the S tronic achieves 7-liter per 100 km.
The 2013 Audi S3 Sportback is expected to be more expensive than the current S3, which is priced at AUD71,200.
