Giampiero Sbrizzi is a transportation design graduate from Turin-based Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) and he has recently created this Pininfarina Chords concept. It is a design study of a futuristic, compact sportscar and measures 3,850 mm long, 1,650 mm wide and 1,300 mm tall.

The concept takes inspiration from music, especially from the double bass instrument. It features a system of vibrating strings and a device capable of converting the resulting low frequency vibrations into energy - a technology is developed by MIT and called Mini Energy Harvester.

These strings are attached to exterior elements produced from mahogany, while the body panels are made of carbon fiber and composite plastics.
