According to Autocar, the 2013 Opel / Vauxhall Cascada, which will be launched early next year, will get a new turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine petrol engine.
This Ecotec engine will feature an aluminum block and SIDI (spark ignition direct injection) technology which promises higher torque outputs and reduced fuel consumption as well as CO2 emissions.
The entry-level variant will be called the Eco Turbo, producing 170 hp and 260 Nm of torque, while the Turbo Performance will develop 200 hp and 300 Nm of torque.
As we have previously reported, the Cascada measures 4,700 mm long, making it 225 mm longer than the Astra TwinTop, and has a full-size fabric roof which can be operated at a speed of 31 mph.
