In a recent interview, the chief of Audi's Quattro division has confirmed that the new RS3 will hit the market in the spring of 2014, much earlier than anticipated.
Stephan Reil told What Car? "Let's just say you will be seeing more of the five-cylinder engine." This implies the car will almost certainly be powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine with 340 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
As with all of Audi's RS models, the new RS3 will feature an aggressive body kit, high performance brakes and quattro all-wheel drive. It is based on the 2013 S3, which was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last month.
