Infiniti Emerg-E won’t be produced

In a recent interview, Infiniti CEO has confirmed the Emerg_e concept would not be going into production but it will still inspire future Infinitis.

Speaking to European media at the Paris Motor Show, Johan de Nysschen said "The Emerg-e is not planned for future production at all, but it does offer an insight into our future powertrains and design direction." In addition, he also says the G-Series successor will be influenced by the Emerg-e, particularly with the interior. It is expected to make its public debut at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show next January.

As a small reminder, the Infiniti Emerg-E Concept is powered by a Lotus-derived 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with 47 hp and two electric motors with 402 hp. It can drive up to 30 miles on electric power alone, but it can go 10 times as far with the range extending petrol engine.
