To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Holden Special Vehicles has recently introduced a special edition GTS.
Based on the Holden Commodore sedan, the anniversary edition is distinguished by "vector" hood scoops, new side vents and lightweight 20-inch forged alloy wheels with a Satin Graphite finish. There's also "25th Anniversary" badges, a "superflow" rear spoiler and a bi-modal exhaust system.
Interior changes are limited but include commemorative badging on the center stack, embroidered headrests, reversing camera system, a blind spot warning system and six airbags.
Sadly, there’s no extra power on board, power still comes from a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 436 hp (325 kW / 442 PS) and 405 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in around 5.0 seconds. In addition, the GTS 25th Anniversary can be equipped with a liquid propane injection system which promises to "substantial fuel savings combined with unrivalled performance."
Only 140 units will be produced (125 for Australia and 15 for New Zealand). Pricing is set to start at AUD$84,990.
