Aston Martin is recalling 1,098 2009-2012 V12 Vantage Coupes worldwide because of a problem with under inflated tires.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, "On these vehicles, the low tire pressure warning light will not illuminate until the tire pressure in the front tires is more than 25 percent below the recommended cold tire pressure. Under-inflated tires can result in tire overloading and overheating, which could lead to tire failure and a possible crash."

Of the 169 North American cars affected by this recall notice, only 148 have been delivered to consumers. The 21 units in inventory will be quarantined at dealerships until the problem is corrected.

The British carmaker says that drivers can be alerted by this problem with noticing slightly higher steering input when driving the car.

The recall is expected to begin soon but Aston Martin has not issued a timeline for the recall. Dealers will reprogram affected customer cars at no charge. Owners can contact Aston Martin at (888) 923-9988 or NHTSA at (888) 327-4236.
