Volkswagen has recently introduced the 20113 Santana, one of the firm’s most successful models in China since 1982.

According to the German carmaker, the second generation Santana is based on a lengthened Polo PQ25 platform just like the Seat Toledo and Skoda Rapid, offering a 2,630 mm wheelbase and 480-liter of cargo capacity. Some safety features include front, side and head airbags, ABS, ESC electronic stabilization program and more.

Depending on the version chosen, the sedan will come with air conditioning or automatic climate control, alloy wheels, electric sliding sunroof, parking sensors and leather upholstery.

In China, the 2013 Santana will be sold in Trendline, Comfortline and Highline versions. Power comes from a choice of two 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated engines, including a 1.4-liter with 90 hp and a 1.6-liter with 110 hp. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been dropped by 28 percent compared to the outgoing model.
