Porsche has officially revealed the 2013 Cayenne Turbo S which will be the new flagship model for their SUV lineup.
According to the German carmaker, the Turbo S is distinguished by gloss black accents on the headlamp and mirror housings as well as smoked headlights, rectangular quad exhaust tips and 21-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin features a new two-tone leather upholstery with contrasting stitching and carbon trim.
Under the hood is the same 4.8-liter V8 engine that’s found in the Panamera Turbo S, but it gets a power and torque boost, producing 550 hp and 750 Nm of torque. That’s 50 hp and 50 Nm of torque more than the standard Cayenne Turbo. It is mated to an eight-speed automatic, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 0.2 seconds quicker than the Turbo at 4.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 283 km/h.
Porsche says the increased performance doesn't affect the fuel economy, the Cayenne Turbo S still returns 11.5-liter per 100 km (20.5 mpg US or 24.6 mpg UK) on the combined European cycle, with CO2 emissions standing at 270 g/km.
In addition, the SUV is equipped with air suspension with active roll stabilization and damping control, an electronically-controlled rear differential lock, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and the Sport Chrono package.
In Germany, the 2013 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S has a starting price of €151,702 ($196,212). It's €30,000 more than the standard Turbo(€121,982).
