Opel has recently confirmed the 2013 Astra OPC will make its Australian debut at the 2012 Sydney Motor Show.
Set to go on sale in early 2013, the most powerful version of the Astra in Australia will compete with the RenaultSport Megane Trophee, Volkswagen Scirocco R and the Subaru WRX. Pricing to be announced closer to its launch.
"Australia has a long history of, and passion, for performance vehicles. Since launch we’ve continually been asked if and when OPC is coming and we are very excited to confirm that the Astra OPC will be in Sydney next week and will be available in our showrooms next year", said Opel Australia boss Bill Mott.
Under the hood, the Astra OPC is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 280 hp and 400 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Standard features include tinted rear windows, LED rear lamps, rear park assistant, two-zone automatic air conditioning system and high performance race seats. There's also adaptive forward lighting (AFL+), Navi 600 navigation system and 19-inch lightweight alloy OPC wheels.
