Pricing for
the Mazda3 MPS, known as the MazdaSpeed3 in North America, has recently been
released in Britain.
Available
in four exterior colors - Aluminium Silver, Black Mica, Crystal White
Pearlescent and Velocity Red, the model has a starting price of £23,995 - all
free of extra charge. Notable changes include new taillights, lower rear bumper,
18-inch alloy wheels with a new gunmetal finish. There’s also a Black Mica
finish for the inner roof spoiler and door mirror housings.
Motivation
is provided by a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine with 256 hp. Power is sent to
the front wheels via a Limited Slip Differential and a 6-speed manual
transmission with wider spaced gear ratios. It allows the car to accelerate from
0 to 96 km/h in 6.1 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.
In
addition, the Japanese carmaker has announced the Tamura and Venture versions. Standard equipment for the Tamura includes Sports styling kit, front fog lights, electric
windows and 17-inch alloy wheels. There’s also front, side and curtain airbags,
6-speaker audio system, dual zone climate control air-conditioning and a
Thatcham Cat 1 alarm.
Meanwhile,
the Venture comes with light gunmetal alloys wheels, a unique rear spoiler,
privacy glass, automatic lights and wipers, cruise control, heated
front sports seats, 5.8-inch Sanyo TomTom navigation and Bluetooth
hands-free.
Both
versions are offered with 1.6-liter petrol and diesel engines.
