Kia has just released the first official images and details of the 2013 Sorento, ahead of its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
According to the South Korean carmaker, the facelifted model features a new front fascia with a new bumper, standard projection headlights and LED daytime running lamps. The new Sorento is still gets the same size, 4,685 mm in length and 1,855 mm in width, but it now sits 10 mm lower to reduce the weight center and improve the ride. In addition, Kia has also revamped the Soretno's steering and suspensions systems for a better driving experience.
Thanks to the 5-star rating received at the EuroNCAP testing, the revised SUV has been equipped with safety features such as DBC, ESC, front, side and side curtain airbags, along with ABS or EBD.
Motivation is provided by a 2.2-liter CRDi diesel engine which produces 195 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque at 1,800 rpm. Power is sent to the all-wheel drive via a manual or automatic transmission, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 189 km/h. In terms of efficiency, it burns an average of 5.5-liter of fuel per 100 km with the automatic transmission and 4.9-liter of fuel per 100 km with the manual gearbox.
As we have previously reported, the 2013 Kia Sorento will go on sale in the UK in December and pricing starts at £26,495.
