Toyota has recently announced plans to introduce the iQ EV at the 2012 Paris Motor Show this week.

According to the Japanese carmaker, the electric version of the iQ is longer than the standard variant to match the new powertrain. The battery can be fully charged in approximately three hours, but with the Fast Charging system, it can be charged up to 80 percent in just 15 minutes.

Under the hood, the iQ EV is powered by an electric motor with 47 kW and 163 Nm of torque. This allows the “green” car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 14 seconds and hit a top speed of 125 km/h. The model can travel up to 85 km and is 125 kg heavier than the regular version.
