The 2013 Skoda Rapid has made its debut today at the Paris Motor Show, before going on sale in the UK on November 12.
Inspired by the MissionL Concept last year in Frankfurt, the Rapid is the first model to show Skoda's new design language. It measures 4,480 mm long, 1,710 mm wide and 1,460 mm tall, making it’s slightly smaller than the Octavia.
Under the hood, four petrol and two diesel engines are available:
- A naturally aspirated 1.2-liter 3-cylinder petrol with 74 hp
- A 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol with 85 hp and 103 hp
- A 1.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol with 121 hp
- A 1.6-liter TDI CR with 104 hp
- A 89 hp 1.6-liter diesel will join in the second half of 2013
Offered in three trim levels (S, SE and Elegance), the base S comes with standard features like daytime running lights, remote central locking, electric front windows, height-adjustable driver’s seat and curtain airbags. The SE version adds 15-inch alloys, AC, maxi-dot trip computer, Bluetooth, leather steering wheel and body-colored door mirrors and handles. Meanwhiel, the top-spec is equipped with cornering fog lamps, rear electric windows, cruise control, a four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The all-new Rapid has a starting price of £12,900, while the most expensive Elegance variant costs £17,850.
