Bentley has officially unveiled the Continental GT3 concept at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

Designed to preview a production race car which will enter competition in late 2013, the coupe features an aerodynamic body kit with Bentley's racing livery, massive front and rear spoilers, a ventilated hood and extended fenders. There's also a side-mounted exhaust, a huge rear wing and additional air vents positioned throughout the body.

Inside, the cabin comes with a full roll cage to protect the driver and a set of racing seats.

According to the British carmaer, the rear-wheel drive car will also be FIA-compliant, so it will be eligible to compete in a variety of events including 24-hour endurance races.

In a statement, Bentley Chairman Dr Wolfgang Schreiber said "The clear message from our customers is that Bentley belongs on the racetrack, and the Continental GT3 is the realization of a dream we've had ever since the launch of the Continental GT." He added, "The Continental GT3 is set to show the world what the Continental GT is capable of in its most extreme form, and establishes a solid foundation for Bentley's long-term motorsport plans."

No infomation about the engine, but the GT3 is likely to be powered by a motorsports-tuned version of the production GT Speed's turbocharged W12 engine.
