The 2013 Audi R8 facelift (V8 and V10) has made its European debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show today.
According to the German carmaker, the sports car is available in two solid colors, Ibis White and Brilliant Red, in four metallic shades and with five pearl effect / crystal effect coatings. It has a modified front fascia with full-LED headlights, a six-point grille and redesigned intakes. There's also a big carbon rear diffuser, air outlets with three slats on each corner and a front splitter made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP).
The V8 rides on the standard wheel dimensions of 8.5Jx18 at the front and 10.5Jx18 at the rear, with tire sizes 235/40 and 285/35, respectively. Meanwhile, the V10 comes with 19-inch wheels of widths 8.5-inch/11-inch, with tire sizes 235/35 and 295/30.
One of the more striking updates is the new 7-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission which replaces the 6-speed automated manual R tronic. The more modern transmission, which features two multi-plate clutches that serve two mutually independent sub-transmissions allowing minimal delay between gear changes, improves performance and reduces fuel consumption and emissions - by up to 22 g/km in fact. It gives a 0-100 km/h acceleration boost of around 0.3 seconds over the standard 6-speed manual option.
