The 2014 Mazda6 has been introduced at the end of last month. And now, the Japanese carmaker just announced that the station wagon variant will make its first public appearance at this month's Paris Motor Show.
Like the sedan, the wagon/estate version is offered with a pair of four-cylinder SKYACTIVE-G petrol engines, a 2.0-liter with 148 hp and a 2.5-liter with 189 hp. In addition, the model is likely to be powered with a new SKYACTIVE-D 2.2-liter twin-turbo diesel engine, which is available in two states of tune, 150 hp and 175 hp.
Mazda says that this is the brand’s first vehicle that features new i-ELOOP brake energy regeneration system that begins charging a capacitor the moment the driver takes his foot off the accelerator. The new Mazda6 has a front MacPherson strut / rear mutli-link suspension and a unibody platform which uses tensile steel which reduces weight and improves torsional rigidity by about 30 percent.
The 2014 Mazda6 wagon will go on sale later on this year in Europe along with its sedan brother.
