2013 Volvo S60 and XC60 recalled

Volvo Cars of North America has recently announced a recall for the 2013 S60 and XC60 due to an airbag defect.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, only nine units will be affected by this recall. The NHTSA says that a manufacturing defect in the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control module that may lead to an inadvertent deployment of the seat belt pretensioner and/or the inflatable side curtain airbag.
Deployment of the seat belt pretensioner and/or side curtain airbag could result in driver distraction and reduced visibility, both of which increase crash risk.
Volvo says that none of the affected units have been sold in the United States yet and they have been quarantined on dealer lots, expecting to be repaired. The SRS control unit will be completely replaced in order for the models to be sold to customers.
