The 2012 Toyota RAV4 EV will arrive at California dealerships next week with a starting price of $49,800. The car is expected to qualify for a $2,500 rebate through the Clean Vehicle Rebate Program in California as well as a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit.
In addition, the Japanese carmaker is also offering a special lease deal for the electric crossover. Customers can lease the RAV4 EV for $599 per month for 36 months with $3,499 down.
Motivation is provided by a Tesla-sourced electric motor and battery pack. This allows the car to receive an EPA rated range of 103 miles, 78 mpg in the city, 74 mpg on the highway and 76 mpg combined.
The 2012 RAV4 EV will be sold exclusively in California, focusing on major metropolitan markets, with a planned production run of 2,600 units.
