Audi has recently released a video which shows the R8 e-tron set a new lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Driven by racer pilot Markus Wankelhock, the sports car managed to run around the famous German track in 8:09.099 minutes in the demanding 20.8 km. This means it was slower than the Toyota EV P001, but still fast enough to beat any other production electric vehicle.
Set to go on sale later this year, the R8 e-tron is powered by two electric motors with 308 hp and 820 Nm of torque. This allows the all-electric car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and hit a limited top speed of 200 km/h. The model can travel up to 215 km on a single charge.
