Renault Scala to be launched in India on September 7

French carmaker Renault has recently announced plans to launch the Scala in India.
Set to go on sale on September 7 with prices ranging from Rs 7 to 10 lakh, the Nissan Sunny-based model measures 4,425 mm in length, 1,695 mm in width and 1,505 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,600 mm. It was redesigned by local designers at Renault’s design studio in Mumbai.
Under the hood, two engine are available. The 1.5-liter XH2 gasoline engine produces 97 hp at 6,000 rpm and 134 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, while the 1.5-liter K9K diesel engine develops 84 hp at 3,750 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm. Both engines are mated exclusively to a 5-speed manual gearbox, although the petrol can be specified with a CVT.
The petrol version will be available in RxE and RxL versions, while the diesel version will be sold in mid-level and top-end trims - the RxL and the RxZ.
