German carmaker Porsche has just released the first images and official details of the 991 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S models which will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month.
Set to go on sale towards the end of the year, the new 991 family comes with an all-wheel drive system, a modified suspension and has 22 mm wider rear wheel arches in comparison to their RWD counterparts. Both models are matched to a standard 7-speed manual gearbox or an option 7-speed PDK twin-clutch automatic transmission.
Under the hood, the 911 Carrera 4 is powered by a flat-six 3.4-liter engine with 350 hp at 7,400 rpm and 390 Nm of torque at 5,600 rpm. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (4.7 seconds for the Cabriolet) and hit a top speed of 285 km/h (282 km/h for the cabriolet).
Meanwhile, the 911 Carrera 4S features a flat-six 3.8-liter engine with 400 hp at 7,400 rpm and 440 Nm of torque at 5,600 rpm. This allows the model to rocket from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds (4.3 seconds for the Cabrio) and hit a top speed of 300 km/h (296 km/h for the Cabrio).
Prices in Germany are €97,557 for the Carrera 4 Coupe, €110,290 for the Cabriolet, €112,313 for the Carrera 4S Coupe and €125,046 for the Carrera 4S Cabriolet. All prices include 19 per cent VAT.
