German tuner VATH has recently introduced an updated tuning program for the Mercedes-Benz E500, called the V50S.
For aerodynamic upgrades, the saloon is equipped with a carbon fiber body kit which includes a new front spoiler, a revised grille, a boot lid spoiler and a rear diffuser. Inside, the cabin comes with premium leather upholstery, a sport steering wheel, carbon trims and a new speedometer that climbs to 360 km/h (224 mph).
Thanks to an optimized ECU, a modified exhausts and a charge air cooling system, the twin-turbo 4.6-liter V8 engine develops 513 hp and 810 Nm of torque from the standard 402 hp and 600 Nm. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 300 km/h.
To cope with the extra power, the company installed a modified Airmatic suspension, a high-performance brake system with 390mm discs and 6-piston calipers, and 20-inch three-piece forged-alloy wheels.
In Germany, the tuning package cost €32,250 ($40,400 / £25,540) - excluding VAT.
