French carmaker Citroën has recently launched a special edition of the new C1 facelift in the United Kingdom, called the Connexion.
Created with input from Facebook users, the model features a Caldera Black metallic exterior with Scarlet Red accents, tinted windows and 14-inch alloy wheels. It is based on the VTR trim level and adding the LED daytime running lights, air conditioning, ABS, four airbags and electric windows.
On the inside, the cabin has been equipped with floor mats and Scarlet Red accents on the speedometer, air vents and center console.
Motivation is provided by a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with 67 hp and 93 Nm of torque. This enables the three-door model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 12.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 158 km/h. In terms of efficacy, it returns 65.7 mpg and 99 g/km of CO2.
"This project has really captured the enthusiasm of the Facebook community. We’ve had thousands of configurations, so much positive feedback and now the first images of C1 Connexion, which will be ready to go on sale later in the year. You liked it, now we’re making it," said Melina Kacherou-Carage, Head of Digital Marketing with Citroen UK.
The Citroën C1 Connexion is on sale now, priced from £9,495 and £9,845 for the 3- and 5-door versions respectively. This represents a £500 premium over the VTR, but the additional equipment are worth £925.
