In a recent interview, Bentley's finance chief Jan-Henrik Lafrentz has revealed the brand could offer a range of armored vehicles.
Details are limited, but the cars would likely be targeted in emerging markets such as Latin America, Russia and the Middle East, where the threat of kidnap and assassination is constant.
Speaking with The Guardian, Jan-Henrik Lafrentz said "For these markets, security is an issue. We are looking at the business case of doing armored cars." He added, "We cannot do this for just one country. There are other countries where there is need for this."
Specific elements required for armored car construction include hot-formed armored steel, aramide fabric, ceramics, special alloyed aluminum and multilayer glass.
