AvtoVAZ has just introduced the El Lada electric vehicle at the 2012 Moscow Motor Show, as joins global automakers in jumping on the EV bandwagon.
Based on the non-electric Lada Kalina, the model festures an undisclosed electric powertrain which allows the car to hit a top speed of 130 km/h and travel up to 150 km on a single charge. The battery can be fully charged in approximately 8 hours.
The Russian carmaker said in a statement that the El Lada will be used as taxis in the Russian Caucasus. This means that even if you wanted to, you won’t be able to buy it.
