Dodge has just announced plans to offer an updated version of the 2013 Ram 1500, called the Outdoorman.
Designed for hunters, fishermen, campers and boaters, the truck is available with either Quad or Crew cabs and two bed lengths (5 ft. 7-inch and 6 ft. 4-inch). It features a two-tone exterior with Mineral Gray bumpers, special badging and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
Inside, the cabin comes with cloth seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an infotainment system. Options include heated front seats, heated steering wheel, GPS navigation, HD radio and a premium audio system.
Motivation is provided by a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine with 395 hp and 551 Nm of torque. It can be mated to either a six-speed automatic transmission or an eight-speed "TorqueFlite 8" transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, but four-wheel drive is optional.
In addition, the 1500 Outdoorman has also been equipped with a trailer-sway control system, heavy-duty shock absorbers and a standard Class IV receiver hitch which allows it to properly tow campers, boats, ATVs.
