Japanese carmaker Nissan has recently revealed the 2013 Sentra in Dallas, ahead of its launch this fall.
Available in six trim levels (S, SV, FE+ S, FE+ SV, SR and SL), the new compact sedan measures 182.1 inches long and a wheelbase of 106.3 inches – an increase of 2.3 inches and 0.6 inches compared to its predecessor, respectively. In addition, it is 0.6 inches lower in height, 1.2 inches narrower in width and 150 pounds lighter in weight.
All new models come with standard features such as power windows, power door locks, 6-way manual driver’s seat, 4-way manual front passenger’s seat, air conditioning, a 4-speaker AM/FM/CD system, remote keyless entry. Meanwhile, available extras include a higher-end audio system with 4.3-inch color display, Streaming Audio via Bluetooth and a large 5.8-inch touch-screen display, RearView Monitor and Nissan Intelligent Key, as well as the new Nissan Navigation system, a new Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) system
Meanwhile, the SR version is fitted with exclusively sport front and rear bumper, a sport front grille, side sills, fog lights, a rear spoiler, five-spoke 17-inch alloys and a chrome exhaust tip.
Motivation is provide by a 1.8-liter inline-four petrol engine with 130 hp and a torque of 128 lb-ft. The power is sent to the front wheels via a CVT transmission, except the base Sentra S which is available with a choice of 6-speed manual or CVT. In terms of efficiency, the car returns 30 mpg city, 39 mpg highway and 34 mpg combined - a 13 % improvement over the previous model, thanks to a lower weight and improved aerodynamics. Specially, the FE+ model returns 40 mpg highway.
Pricing for the new models haven’t announced yet.
