British carmaker Land Rover has recently announced the pricing of the 2013 Freelander 2 in the United States.

Set to go on sale this fall, the updated Freelander 2 will start at $37,250, including an $850 destination charge. Compared to its competitors, this price is a $2,145 cheaper than the 2013 BMW X3 xDrive28i and a $491 more expensive than the 2013 Audi Q5.

Offered with four trim levels (GS, Dynamic, HSE and HSE Lux) and three new exterior colors (Mauritius Blue, Aintree Green and Havana), the crossover comes with LED technology on both ends, a new front grille, fog lights, 19-inch alloy wheels and an available body styling package.

Inside, the cabin features new center console, a five-inch screen located in the center of the instrument cluster, keyless start and a rear-view camera. There's also a navigation system, a voice activation system and a premium Meridian audio system offered with a choice of 380W or 825W.

Power comes from a new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 240 hp at 5,500 rpm and 250 ft-lbs of torque at 3,200 rpm. It is linked with an Aisin AWF21 six-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel drive system which features a Haldex rear axle differential.

The 2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 will be officially introduced to the public at the Moscow Motor Show on August 29. It is expected to go on sale in the United Kingdom this October.
