North American carmaker General Motors has released the pricing information for the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS.
Available in four exterior colors (Black Granite Metallic, Cyber Gray Metallic, Summit White and Victory Red), the 5-door hatchback has a starting price of $20,995 when equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the six-speed automatic transmission version costs $22,280, including destination charges.
On the outside, the RS version comes with a reworked front bumper with deeper side air vents, a bespoke RS-specific grille, side skirts and a new rear spoiler. There's also a power, tilt-sliding sunroof with wind deflector, a chrome exhaust pipe and 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels.
For the interior, we find leather-appointed front bucket seats with sueded microfiber inserts and red accents, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob with red stitching, aluminum sport pedals, Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system, and specific instrument panel cluster graphics.
Power comes from a 1.4-liter Ecotec turbo engine with 138 hp (103 kW / 140 PS) and 148 lb-ft (200 Nm) of torque.
Production of the 2013 Sonic RS will begin in October at the Orion Assembly Plant in Michigan.
