A recent report has revealed some new details about the 2013 Audi RS6 Avant.
According to Autocar, the estate will feature an uprated version of the new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine from the S6, S7 and S8. It produces 513 hp and 650 Nm of torque in the S8, but thanks to a turbocharger boost pressure, this engine will develop 572 hp and 699 Nm of torque in the RS6.
The engine will reportedly be mated to eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. We can also expect an all-wheel drive system, complete with an active rear differential with torque vectoring technology.
Nothing is official, but the RS6 can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 4.5 seconds.
The 2013 RS6 Avant is expected to make its public debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show, with UK sales starting in mid-2013.
