Volkswagen has recently revealed the Polo BlueGT, which is based on the popular Polo, ahead of its launch later this year.
According to the German carmaker, the hatchback just takes under 8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph and hit a top speed of 131 mph (210 km/h), thanks to a 1.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged TSI engine with 140 hp and 250 Nm of torque between 1,500 rpm and 3,500 rpm.
Fitted with the cylinder deactivation technology and a start/stop system, the fuel efficiency of the car is amazing. When the model is driven at a constant speed of 50 km/h in third or fourth gear, it’s possible to save up to 1.0 liters of fuel every 100 km. Specifically, as for the optional seven-speed DSG transmission, it returns an estimated of 4.5 liters per 100 km, while with the manual transmission, the figure is 4.6 liters.
The Volkswagen Polo BlueGT will be launched in the fourth quarter and pricing starts at €19,650 (VAT included) in Germany.
