Puritalia, a small Italian manufacturer of custom-built, has officially unveiled their 427 roadster.

Inspired by the styling of the iconic 1965 Shelby Cobra, the sports car comes with a carbon fiber and composite body which uses an aluminum chassis with high strength steel reinforcement. In addition, the two-seater roadster also features an aggressive front fascia, two roll bars, Brembo brakes with six-piston brakes 380 mm at the front and four-piston 345 mm discs at the rear, a set of 19- / 20-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tires. There's also an independent double wishbone suspension and adjustable shock absorbers.

Motivation is provided by a 5.0-liter V8 engine with 439 hp at 6,500 rpm and 530 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. In addition, the engine can be equipped with a supercharger which allows it to develop 597 hp at 7,000 rpm and 640 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. The power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and a limited slip differential.

Every car will be built entirely by hand, so customers are assured "a truly unique piece of art that is a clear expression" of their tastes and personality.

The project founder, Paolo Parente, said "We decided to design and engineer the 427 simply because a similar car doesn't exist. The result, a powerful car using best in class technologies and materials to enhance and elevate the drivers experience. An exclusive item to own and designed for those (like us) who still love the pleasure of driving their own car and not be driven by it."
