After being leaked earlier this week, Mazda has officially launched the MX-5 facelift in Japan, where it’s simply known as the Roadster.
According to the Japanese carmaker, the two-seater coupe has a more aggressive front fascia with larger air intakes, new fog lamp bezels, a new chin spoiler and a fresh set of 17-inch aluminum wheels. Inside, seats are now available in a two-tone tan and black upholstery, while fabric and Alcantara options are also available.
The mechanical upgrades haven’t been forgotten, the company’s engineers has made adjustments to its throttle system and boosted the braking power.
For pedestrian safety, the sports car has been equipped with a new active bonnet which lifts at the rear to absorb the energy of impact.
