Honda has recently announced the Mugen CR-Z GT race car will compete in Japan’s Super GT Series.
According to the Japanese carmaker, the race car will feature an aggressive body kit and powered by a twin-turbo 2.8-liter V6 engine paired with a specially developed hybrid system. While specifications have not been released, we won’t have to wait long because it will enter its first race at this month's SUGO GT round on July 28-29.
In an official press release, the company said "Honda has announced its intent to provide technical support to Team Mugen, operated by M-TEC for its competition with the MUGEN CR-Z GT in the GT300 class of SUPER GT Series. Honda will supply a 2.8-liter V6 twin-turbo engine and the racing hybrid system developed exclusively for this Team Mugen racing machine and will start actual test runs."
