After the all-new CLS Shooting Brake was revealed, Mercedes-Benz has quietly released first image and details of its high-performance variant.

According to the German carmaker, the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake uses the same drivetrain as its four-door coupe sibling with a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 which develops 530 hp at 5,500 rpm and 800 Nm of torque from 2,000 to 4,500 rpm. This allows the wagon to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in approximately 4.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 km/h.

In addition, the engine will be equipped with the optional AMG Performance package which enables it to produce 556 hp and 900 Nm of torque. Thanks to this, the car can run from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 280 km/h.

All power is transmitted to the rear wheels through an AMG Speedshift MCT 7-speed sport transmission.

The Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake will be introduced at the German Formula One Grand Prix at Hockenheim later this month.
