In June, sales for major automakers improved more than 20% over the same period last year. Specifically, Toyota gained 60.3 percent, Honda picked up 48.8 percent and Nissan added 28.2 percent. Meanwhile, U.S. automakers also growth but with lower rate, Ford sales improved 7.0 percent last month, while GM and Chrysler both piled on double-digit gains of 15.5 percent and 20.3 percent, respectively.
In terms of each specific model, the Ford Escape deserves to be honored first. It improved 28.0% with a slight uptick in year-over-year incentives as the redesigned 2013 Escape trickled into dealerships.
