New details are starting to emerge about the upcoming Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG.
According to Autocar, the hottest version of the new A-Class hatchback will get a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with 330 hp and "maximum torque significantly above 295 lb-ft". The power will be transmitted to the four wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox and a specially tuned Haldex-style multi-plate clutch which will be capable of delivering most of its power to the rear wheels under load.
The premium hatchback will also feature a lower and stiffer suspension, a three stage electronic stability program (ESP), a wider track, larger wheels and tires, upgraded brakes and a reworked electro-mechanical steering system.
The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG will debut later this year at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
