With the assistance of its technical partner Williams F1, Jaguar is reportedly developing an F-Type GT3 to return to the racetrack.

Set to compete in 2014, the race car will be used in a new factory-backed racing program. As such, it will feature more aggressive, functional styling to help improve high-speed stability and cornering.

Motivation could be provided by a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine with 500 hp, which will be used in the C-X75 hybrid. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than 4 seconds and hit a top speed of approximately 322 km/h.

According to the British carmaker, the F-Type GT3 could also spawn a new range-topping version in the same vein similar to the Porsche 911 GT3.
