Audi A3 Sedan to be launched in the U.S. later this year

In a posting on its Facebook page, Audi has confirmed plans to launch the new A3 sedan in the United States later this year.

According to the German carmaker, the model will be based on the MQB platform and adopts styling which is heavily influenced by the three-door hatchback.

Under the hood, engine options remain a mystery, but possible include a 1.8-liter TFSI petrol with 177 hp, a 2.0-liter TFSI petrol with 208 hp and a fuel-efficient 2.0-liter TDI

The Audi A3 sedan will probably be unveiled at the 2012 Paris Motor Show in September or at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
