Just two years after being introduced, Mercedes-Benz has recently revealed the updated version of the SLS AMG 'Gullwing' coupe, named the SLS AMG GT.
According the German carmaker, the 2013 model will replaces the current SLS AMG and will be available in both Coupe and Roadster. It comes with the darkened taillights and headlamps, a new black gloss finish for the hood, red-painted brake calipers and a unique set of body parts. There's also exterior mirrors, the fins on the bonnet and wings, an AMG logo on the right of the luggage lid and 19-inch alloy wheels with 265/35 tires at the front and 295/30 tires at the rear. Three additional AMG light-alloy wheels are also available.
Inside, the cabin features re-upholstered with black leather and Alcantara contrasted with red stitching, red seat belts, red center console and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. There's also a €5,771.50 AMG designo Exclusive STYLE package which has a diamond design with contrasting stitching and a choice of different colour options.
Under the bonnet, thanks to a reprogrammed ECU, the naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V8 engine now produces 591 hp at 6,800 rpm and 479 lb-ft of torque at 4,750 rpm - a increased by 20 hp. It is mated to an optimised AMG Speedshift DCT seven-speed sports transmission, allowing the supercar to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 11.2 seconds and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 317 km/h.
The facelifted Mercedes SLS AMG GT will go on sale in Germany this October and in the U.S. in mid-November 2012. Prices is set at €204,680 for the Coupe and €213,010 for the Roadster, including relevant taxes.
