Ford has recently released a new video which shows the 2013 Shelby GT500 hitting 200 mph at the famous Nardo ring in southern Italy.

Kerry Baldori, Chief Functional Engineer, said "It's a monumental benchmark for any performance vehicle to be able to have that capability to go 200 mph (322 km/h) and to say they can go that fast."

As a small reminder, the 2013 Shelby GT500 is powered by a supercharged 5.8-liter V8 engine with 662 hp and 855 Nm of torque. It is mated to an upgraded six-speed manual gearbox, allowing the car to have an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 15 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
