Volkswagen developing Golf Alltrack

Volkswagen Passat Alltrack

According to a report from Autocar, Volkswagen is planning to introduce an Alltrack version of the next-generation Golf.

The report also says that the crossover will feature a raised ride height and plastic body cladding. It is envisioned as an alternative to the second-generation Tiguan which will increase in size and offers an optional third row of seats.

The model will be based on the new MQB platform, currently only used in the Audi A3, and could be offered with standard front-wheel drive or optional 4Motion four-wheel drive.

As planned, the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack could go on sale as early as 2015.
