Volkswagen has recently released the official images and videos of the 2013 Golf GTI Cabrio.
According to the German carmaker, the model comes with safety equipment like the XDS system, the ESP, limited slip differential, front side and knee airbags. The GTI model's electro-hydraulic cloth top can be operated while driving at speeds of up to 30 km/h.
Under the hood, the all-new GTI is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 207 hp and 280 Nm of torque as the regular GTI. The power is send to the front wheels via a standard six-speed manual or an optional dual-clutch DGS transmission. This allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 237 km/h (DSG: 235 km/h), while returning a combined fuel consumption of 7.6-liter per 100 km and CO2 emissions of 177 g/km (DSG: 7.7-liter per 100 km and 180 g/km CO2).
The 2013 Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabrio will go on sale in Europe from mid June with prices in Germany starting at €31,350.
