The Mitsubishi i-MiEV Evolution has recently been revealed ahead of its racing debut at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, to be held in Colorado from July 3 to 8.
Based on the production model, the all-new race car features a tube-frame chassis, a specially-designed racing-specific body and a prominent read wing. It will be driven by Hiroshi Masuoka - the first Japanese driver to post consecutive overall victories in the Dakar Rally.
Power comes from a 35 kWh battery which powers three electric motors, one in the front and two in the rear (the all-wheel drive system), which produces 322 hp.
