Lamborghini Aventador Roadster to use removable hardtop

Lamborghini is currently working on the LP700-4 Aventador Roadster and according to a report from Quattroruote, it will have a Targa-style removable roof, detachable in two sections.

The Italian magazine also says that the roof will probably be made from lightweight carbon fiber just like the supercar’s body. This design will enable the roadster to keep the engine cover identical between coupe and roadster versions, which will lower production costs, time involved in development and production.

As a small reminder, the Lamborghini LP700-4 Aventador Roadster will be powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine with 690 hp and 690 Nm of torque. The unit will be mated to a seven-speed transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
