The new K9, Kia’s new flagship, has recently gone on sale in its local auto market.

According to the South Korean carmaker, the saloon measures 5,090 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,490 mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 3,045 mm. It comes with features and luxury amenities such as all-LED adaptive headlights, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), radar-based Blind-Spot Detection (BSD), a 17-speaker Lexicon (by Harman) sound system, Smart Cruise Control (SCC) and an Around-View Monitor (AVM) with four cameras.

Under the hood, the car is powered by an upgraded 3.8-liter MPI V6 engine with 290 hp, followed by a 329 hp 3.8-liter with gasoline direct injection. Both units will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.

The K9 will also be exported to Europe starting later in 2012, but Kia confirmed there are no plans to offer the K9 in the UK.
