Fiat has just announced the pricing for the 500 Abarth 695 Maserati Edition in the UK.
First shown at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, the special edition is based on the convertible model of the Abarth 500 Series and features a special three-layer Pontevecchio Bordeaux livery, an electrically controlled soft top in grey fabric and 17-inch Maserati-inspired Neptune design alloy wheels. There's also an Abarth Koni suspension, upgraded braking system and serial number plates ranging from 1 to 499.
Inside, the cabin has cream leather seats, an electric power steering with sport mode, carbon trim for the gearbox buttons and new instrument gauges made by the Jaeger brand.
Power comes from a 1.4 Turbo T-Jet 16v engine with 178 hp at 5,500 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. It is mated to a manual Abarth Competizione gearbox which is electronically operated with steering wheel controls, allowing the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 7 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 225 km/h.
Production will be limited to 499 units with prices starts at £32,000. First deliveries are expected to begin towards the end of this year.
