A new report from Autocar has revealed some new details about the Porsche Macan - formerly known as the Porsche Cajun.

The British magazine says that the entry-level model is expected to feature a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 220 hp, allowing the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 230 km/h. To fill in the gap between the four-cylinder and powerful turbo, there will be an S version powered by a naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine with 295 hp.

On the diesel side, there will reportedly be a 190 hp 2.0-liter TDI with a fuel consumption of 45 mpg and a 250 hp 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel. In addition, Porsche is interested in Audi’s latest 309 hp twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 engine, recently launched in the A6.

Meanwhile, the Turbo variant will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine with approximately 370 hp and 542 Nm of torque. The power is transmitted to all four wheels via a standard seven-speed manual or an optional seven-speed dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission.

Lastly, the German carmaker will introduce a hybrid with a 208 hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and a 54 hp electric motor. We could also see an Audi-sourced twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 diesel with 309 hp (230 kW / 313 PS).

Developed in-house at Porsche’s R&D centre in Weissach, Germany, the Porsche Macan is expected to ride on the MLB platform and will be produced in Leipzig.
